2291 creates four places for future dialogue. Magnet and focal point of every place is the 2291 Bench – realized at exclusive locations in each of the four language regions of Switzerland. The 2291 Bench offers relaxed thinking and reflection, and engaging discussions with friends or so far unknown people. From such encounters new ideas and surprising perspectives arise - curious, open, serene.
MEHRThe 2291 Bench builds bridges between the most diverse generations, regions and individuals across Switzerland. It offers space for family celebrations, 1st of August speeches, and serves as an excursion destination for bike tours or school trips. It is the magic meeting and viewpoint in the Alps, in a forest clearing or by a lake. The 2291 Bench encourages to think about the big questions of our time. It will foster unexpected new friendships and bold answers.
Carved from natural stone - formed over millions of years - we create four unique 2291 Benches. Each strong enough to serve as a solid platform for dialogue for centuries to come. Each 2291 Bench weighs around 9.3 tonnes – a heavily important place to make and celebrate the future!

Our benches are produced in collaboration with the Natural Stone Association of Switzerland (NVS) and stone pits from all over Switzerland. A careful selection of different rocks from the four language regions makes each of the four benches an exclusive masterpiece. A work of art for unforgettable get-togethers, surprising interactions, and new perspectives.
Each 2291 Bench costs CHF 150,000. For production, to find the appropriate location, to obtain permits, to prepare foundations, for transport and of course to organize the opening party, as well as marketing and interactive communication. We are looking for passionate partners who would like to support us with a contribution.
